Old Ale is based on one of Adnams' oldest beer recipes, dating back to 1890.
This winter warmer is brewed with East Anglian Pale Ale malt; Crystal malted barley, and First Gold hops, and has flavours of red fruit, roasted grains, and a hint of caramel.
It is eagerly anticipated with the change in the seasons and has that warming fireside glow about it.
You’ll find rich aromas of caramel and nutty chocolate, which also come through on the palate along with hints of liquorice and red fruits. This is all balanced by a smooth bitterness that cleanses the palate and makes room for the next sip.
